Shopping Online? Earn More Points!

If you've been following the blog, you would know that Goober is putting his points/miles to work. That's one of the differences between us: he spends while I save.

And how do I save? ... By spending.



Puma had a clearance sale not too long ago, and it really didn't take much browsing for my shopping cart to have around $150 worth of items in it. Since I was planning to use my Chase Sapphire, I logged onto their website and checked the Ultimate Rewards' "Earn Faster" section.

Major brands and merchants frequently have relationships with point-earning cards that enable you to earn double, triple, quadruple or more points with each purchase. In Puma's case, Ultimate Rewards offered 6x points per dollar spent!

This means that my purchase of $150 netted me 900 Chase Ultimate Reward points. Not bad!

So for all you online shopaholics out there, take the time to check your card's point program and see if your favorite merchants offer bonus points.

If you spend, you might as well save.
