Redeeming Points/Miles
Spending your hard earned points isn't as easy as spending money. (Go figure.) Each airline runs by its own rules and award charts, which means when you want to travel won't always coincide with the seats that are redeemable with points.
We highly recommend that you get familiar with award charts before you even earn your first point. (Read our Goal Oriented Miles Earning page to learn why you should cater your points earning to the trip you are planning.) Plan as far in advance as you can (as much as a year) but have a flexible attitude and be willing to shift your itinerary around, especially if you are booking for more than one person.
Miles Expiration Date
Your miles can—and will—expire. If your account doesn't see any activity for awhile, your miles will disappear, along with your hopes and dreams of flying for cheap. Activity includes points earned and points spent.
