"You're going to Maui for only 3 nights?" Yes, yes I did, and it was less than $400 USD. That was including air, lodging, car, food AND scuba diving with this majestic beast above.
I had to attend a wedding of a couple of good friends in northern California and had four days extra vacation before hand, so I decided that a destination within a 5-6 hour flight maximum would be a worthwhile visit. There weren't many options, so I had to settle for the beaches of Maui:
Transferring 25k of my Chase UR points to British Avios, I booked LAX-OGG(Maui) for a measly $5.00, on American Airlines. Next, through Costco, I found a Thrifty car rental for $70 USD for the four days I was there.
Lodging was found through Hostel World, where I found Banana Bungalow which was about $40 USD/night. As a bonus they offer free daily tours to most of the touristy spots, which include Road to Hana, snorkeling at turtle city, and sunrise at Haleakala Lodging for cheap, daily tours and the ability to meet people while traveling solo made my trip that much more fun. I should mention that the rooms were shared bunks with 3 other people, and no air condition so I was eaten alive by the mosquito.
I was looking forward to just being a beach bum and go on the free tours the whole trip, Then I realized I should probably put my Scuba certification to good use because I've only used it once since I've gotten it. After some minor research, I decided on a two-tank dive at Molikini Crater through BB scuba. The total for that excursion was $150(the majority of my trip cost) and completely worth it. Easily, the highlight of my trip was finding myself swimming next to a 15-foot manta ray.
As for food, I ate a lot of spam masubi for meals totaling probably less than $5 each meal. Although I did splurge once for poke, and deep fried spam masubi at Da Kitchen. This restaurant is highly recommended to go to right after you arrive from the airport, it is literally 5 minutes down the road.
Yes, I went to Maui for only three days. But when each of those days ends with a view like this, it's definitely well worth it.
.
This is basically the way how maximum has to work and also understanding those factors which we get to experience while going through things like thousand islands boat tours is a lot for us if practically the touring is amazing.
